Hungarian Current Research Information System

According to the 160/2001 (IX. 12) Government Decision every organization in the R&D sector using any form of budgetary funding must supply information to the HunCRISystem concerning the researches funded by these amounts.

The HunCRIS, as the database of the Hungarian R&D projects, researchers and research institutes, is operated by the staff members of the National Technical Information Center & Library at the Technical and Economic University of Budapest, with the supervision of the Research & Development Department of Strategy.

The project starting- and resolution form can be filled electronically. In order to fill them out, you have to enter the HunCRIS database, and register as DATA MANAGER. After the registration you have 15 days to fill out forms. The realizing organization is only to be recorded, if it is not included in the database yet. If it is included, it has to be selected from the list. In this case, you still have to mention the role of the organization in the project. The same applies for the realizing persons.

After filling the forms electronically, they can be downloaded and printed. The printed project starting- or resolution form and the organization form has to be signed by the project leader, the personal forms have to be signed by each participant.

The signed forms are part of the funding agreement, and have to be returned to the project funding institution via mail.

The HunCRIS database is free, anyody can use it. The connection is secure, data sent by the user can only be processed by the server.

For queries - having access to the public information - it is not necessary to register. If you register, searching will be easier. The result of the queries will always contain that set of projects, which match the query conditions. You can access the realizing organization and persons after clicking on the chosen project.

The database system makes it possible to make direct queries on cities, realizing organisations or participants that have current projects from other homepages. It is possible to view the list of projects for some selected cities and organizations. After, it is possible to proceed as you have enterd the database from the above mentioned address.

The HunCRIS unit of BME OMIKK provides institutional, regional or thematic compilations on demand, using the collected data. For the University Days of BME and on the occasion of the UNESCO Year of Physics the descriptions, the organizations ad the researchers of 380 projects were collected in the volume entitled “Projects in Physics”.
